Think About it!

According to the Research on Gratitude,  leading researcher in this field, Dr. Martin E. P. Seligman, a psychologist at the University of Pennsylvania, tested the impact of various positive psychology interventions on 411 people, each compared with a control assignment of writing about early memories. When their week's assignment was to write and personally deliver a letter of gratitude to someone who had never been properly thanked for his or her kindness, participants immediately exhibited a huge increase in happiness scores. This impact was greater than that from any other intervention, with benefits lasting for a month (Harvard Health 2).

GRATITUDE : DID YOU TELL THE PERSON you were GRATEFUL FOR HAVING THEM IN YOUR LIFE? This was the assignment on Tuesday.

TASK: WRITE A SHORT LETTER ( text message or e-mail) telling ONE PERSON you are grateful to have them in your life. Jot down the way they responded..

For Example- My son is having a great first season in 7th grade playing tackle football. He runs around the house tackling the couch, the pillows, his sister and sets up plays with chairs and pillows to run around.. He has been talking so much about his tackle football coach and how much he is " THE BEST MOM" and for so many reasons.. I think I may send him a text or pull him to the side next practice before Sunday's game and tell him all the thinks my son has been saying about him.  Sounds simple? In a world where everyone is busy and the time can escape me.. I will  make sure I do this.. One of the things that stands out to me is that people are more inclined to reach out to a coach, teacher, business owner , etc.. to COMPLAIN and FORGET to Compliment or BE  GRATEFUL - I would like to reach out in gratitude !  Begin the process of PERMA! Let's Go !!

We will go around and answer this first thing on Tuesday!!
