v   Answer the following in your notebook and prepare for a class fishbowl following a compare/contrast ppt on Thursday.
1.Does the author really define friendship? What is Viorst’s purpose in writing this? How does Winik define friendship? How does she categorize friendship? Is there a particular category you agree with our disagree with? Explain. 
2. It is clear in Viorst's essay  that it is directed toward women. How would Viorst have changed the categories if the essay it was directed at young men?

3.Compare/ Contrast:  Draw a T-chart.. compare and contrast two categories of friendships based on any two categories in both articles.
