Presentation Format OPTION To Choose  GOOGLE DOCS or SLIDES .

This is a 2 day workshop . All group members will present together. All group members must participate and BE PRESENT  for a grade ( See Syllabus re; Assessment)

SCHOLARS!! 

TASKS: Create A Group Outline : FOLLOW THE OUTLINE FORMAT

Using the “ How To Create An Outline “ handout , create an outline together.  

This asks you to collaborate as a group. You will need to develop a clear and well – developed Thesis (THIS IS THE HARDEST PART) .

BRAINSTORM IDEAS TOGETHER -WHAT DO YOU THINK THE ARTICLE IS ABOUT? ( SEE The Writing Process Worksheet - Handed out in the Beginning of the Semester;

Pre-Writing : Clustering, Listing, Free Writing ) ARE THERE THREE OR FOUR IDEAS that can later on be broken down into topic sentences? These are sub – categories later to be translated into topic sentences. All sub – categories ask the group to provide CONCRETE EXAMPLES to support the ideas within the category.

DECIDE WHO IS PRESENTING WHAT.... HAVE A PLAN!!! 

BE CREATIVE !!!!


Outline Checklist:

ü  Thesis

ü  Main Points (4)  

Every  Main Point has Concrete Examples, Quotes and In Text Citation. 

 ü   Final Analysis

ü  MLA Format

ü  Transitional Phrases

ü  Edit for Grammar and Spelling

 

Evaluation:  The group will present their outline in  Google Docs OR Power Point for a Participation Grade- participation is 30% of your overall grade.

 MLA In Text Citation Tips :

According to Seidman in the article " 14 Ways To Jump For Joy"  add quote ( 3)  .. .OR research asserts that Epicureas in the article " Philosophy and Finding Happiness"  states " STATE or Paraphrase" (Blackburn 2). 

 

NOTES *Be sure to exchange contact information with your group so you have access to the document . You will need to collaborate after to class in order to prepare for your presentation

 

*Groups will roll the dice to see which group goes first!

The Audience Evaluation - Write it Down and Mention one of the following IN Audience Response After Each Groups Present.

Did the Group?

  1. Have  a CLEAR Thesis that could later on BREAK DOWN INTO MAIN POINTS?
  2. Topic Sentences- Main POINTS ARE CLEAR and well thought out? Not just basic?
  3. Incorporation of Concrete Examples with clear understanding of support 
  4. Appropriate Extraction of Quotes  
  5. In Text Citation is in MLA (Roberts 1).
  6. Language is Developed - Scholarly and Nice Use of Vocabulary
  7. Provides Insight as statements within the Main Points 
  8. Has a WELL thought OUT and WELL developed FINAL ANALYSIS
