ReplyDeleteIf we are using our "Models for Writers" Textbook as a source do we need to photocopy the pages we are using? Would it be acceptable to just write down the specifics, including page numbers, on a separate sheet of paper?
ReplyDeletestefania. You do not have to photocopy the text. You can go ahead and cite it on a separate sheet of paper.
ReplyDeletei was also recieving an error message when i tried logging in off campus, but when i brought my laptop to the library and followed the intrustuons in order to register my laptop to the farmingdale wifi zone it worked. maybe that will help
ReplyDelete-Connor
@ andrew - for your introduction you should introduce the topic and give a brief explanation of it and its history. For your thesis statement you should present which side you stand with.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if we're allowed to use wikipedia as a source?
-Baktash
Baktash- It's better to use databases and references from the library. Wikipedia isn't always reliable and usually not accepted as a valid source from professors.
ReplyDeleteis a thesis statment one sentence, or can it be two?
ReplyDelete@bianca as many that are neccisary to project the point that you are trying to portray
ReplyDeleteDo we have to use "Models for Writers" as a source? What if we dont have any conections from the story?
ReplyDeleteThere is 2 computer labs in Whitman Hall that can be used to log on and access the data base easier from the school. I know the one upstairs is open late until 11pm or 12am.
ReplyDeleteIf we are using a video clip as a source, how would we cite it?
ReplyDelete-Christina
Yasmin-
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure you don't need to use "Models for Writers" as a source. You can also try using one of the articles we went over in class or one of the video clips we watched.
-Christina
what are some of your topics that you are doing?
ReplyDeleteIf we are using more than 3 sources, should we staple all of them to the back of the essay or just 3 of them?
ReplyDeletederek, my topic is whether or not a society can survive without the role of a religion and i am going to tie it into atheism to make it interesting to me.
ReplyDeletei also have more than 3 sources, i think it is safe to put the extra ones as well
writing this paper has made me realize how ignorant some people are to others views.it has really effected me and made me feel stronger about my opinion.
ReplyDeletedo you guys have anything in your 'both' column on your venn diagram? i am almost done with my essay and see no similaritiesbin my arguements
ReplyDeleteashlee-
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have to write any similarities in the middle column, I think that is where you write your argument down, unless I'm wrong?
Do we still have to cite in text qoutations?
ReplyDeleteI havent had anything down the same column for my ven diagram either. my topic has way two different views.
ReplyDeleteChristina
ReplyDeleteI'm not exactly sure how to cite a video never done it but instead of a page I think you use a time.
