Note: All of the groups did a wonderful job presenting today!
The assignment is in a few parts!
1. Please read "The Company Man" by Goodman in your text and respond in YOUR NOTEBOOK
think about the following as you build ideas about emotions and social status and how they contribute to the self. Think about all of the ways people can identify with work and how that can be both a blessing and a burden. Think about all of the ways that work can contribute to how we see ourselves and how others see us. For example ; People tend to describe themselves and define themselves by what they "do". What we "do " for work can unfortunately define how others see us.
What is quality of life? How many hours are you willing to spend working at a job? Why do you think people identify with work? Can social status be a detriment to the human spirit?
What did you think of "The Company Man"?
3. PRINT THE RESEARCH PAPER ASSIGNMENT SHEET AS IT IS POSTED AS A LINK TO THE LEFT OF THIS POST. IN ADDITION PLEASE PRINT THE SUPPORT GROUP SHEET . IT IS BELOW THE ASSIGNMENT SHEET. PLEASE BRING BOTH THE RESEARCH PAPER SHEET AND THE SUPPORT GROUP SHEET WITH YOU TO THE LIBRARY ON THURSDAY 11/20. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE WILL MEET IN THE LIBRARY ON 11/20.
4. Good Luck with your paper! REMEMBER IT IS DUE ON THURSDAY and I will collect it after the presentation at the LIBRARY!
Have a great weekend and feel free to e-mail with any questions or concerns!
