PART II- ACTIVE READING- To be an active reader one must read with intent. That means, in order to understand the material you should be highlighting, questioning, connecting and jotting down ideas AS YOU READ. In this case, you will be better able to comprehend the reading and your assignments. Jotting ideas down as you read means that you are formulating your own ideas as they relate to the assignment , our lectures, lessons and fishbowls. You can draw connections as you go. You can write in the book/ on the article (highlight) or use post-it notes. It is up to you. Active Reading truly aided me in the writing process when I was both an undergraduate and graduate student! I still actively read today!
